Monday review and Tuesday preview

As we steer into May, let's see what Monday had in store...

--Muhlenberg South d. #22 Hopkins County Central 3-2
In my mid-season review, I wondered how good the Storm really were. Guess we know now.

--Pleasure Ridge Park d. #20 Butler 1-0
I believe we have found a challenger to Butler in the 6th region.

--#13 Manual d. Seneca 1-0
Is Seneca emerging as yet another challenger in the 7th region?

--Other ranked winners on Monday included #12 Allen County-Scottsville, #8 Ballard, #2 Greenwood, #3 Henderson County, #24 Larue County, #10 Male, #9 North Laurel, #1 Owensboro Catholic, #14 Dunbar, #7 Reidland and #5 Ryle. Check the KHSAA scoreboard for updated scores throughout the day...

As for Tuesday...

--Central Hardin @ #4 North Hardin
--Madison Southern @ #9 North Laurel
--Providence (IN) @ #10 Male
--#11 Grayson County @ #24 Larue County
The Hawks, who beat North Hardin handily last week, will fly up the rankings with a win here.
--#13 Manual @ Pleasure Ridge Park
PRP might establish themselves as 6th region favorite with a win here today.
--#14 Dunbar @ Franklin County
--Williamsburg @ #15 South Laurel
--#17 Mercy @ Meade County
--Butler County @ #19 Edmonson County
--Frankfort @ #21 Scott County
--#22 Hopkins County Central @ Webster County
The Storm look to stop the bleeding.
--Model @ #25 Danville

Upset Alert (a new feature)...
--#12 Allen County-Scottsville @ Barren County
The Patriots only beat the Trojans by one at home, and if they don't bring their 'A' game today, we might have a 15th district upset on our hands.

Game of the day (and year so far)...
--#3 Henderson County @ #1 Owensboro Catholic
Catholic has played great so far, but they only own one big in-state win (Grayson County). This is a great test for both teams and perhaps a state championship preview.
