Interesting Quote

From Warren East coach Phil Burkeen after his team's 10-0 loss last night to Greenwood...

“I watched the state champion play. They ought to win a state championship and if they don't, something is wrong."

Hmm...here's a link to the Bowling Green Daily News article about the game...

  • there is something wrong there. Greenwood should have already won 3 or 4 state titles with the talent that they've had there over the last 10 years, but Reece always squanders it away with her ineptitude. She has already run off 2 assistants this year....more than that in the past and no telling how many quality players.

  • She ran the Lee girl off a couple of weeks ago, then fired mcKinney today because they were too close to the girls and the girls like them too much. The turmoil and lunacy continue.

  • Wow...you would think that all this so-called turmoil and lunacy..would affect the team. How is that happening at greenwood after all that? But they are still finding a way to win. We'll see how this affects them in the long run. Hope that everything turns out okay for the girls.

  • It makes me sick the way she pisses away the talent over there at Greenwood. I've watched those girls play in the summer for years and see how many state championships they've won in the summer and seen how well they play. Then they get ovver to Greenwood and heads are always hanging. It should be criminal the way she squanders the talent on the bench, they never get to play unless it is a blowout. they never seem like they are having fun and always underachieve. If they had a decent coach they would be unstoppable, but fortunately for the rest of the teams in the 14th district and the 4th region there's always the hope that Reece will do something stupid like she did in the region finals last year and someone else gets to go to state, while the team with the most talent stays home tht weekend.

  • I won't argue that Greenwood has had the most talent over the past forever in the 4th region, but the most talent doesn't always mean you're supposed to go to the state tournament.

  • thats horrible about the coaches, when we played greenwood i thought the mckinny guy was one of the better coaches and did a good job calling pitches and keeping good batters on my team off balance!

  • Hey Ben, This site is a great information source. I know many of us enjoy it.

    To the people posting comments:

Lets keep the negative post off this site. It does nothing but make our sport look bad. If you don't have something good to say
    post it somewhere else.

And where would that be? The posts were in response to an article in the paper and were on topic.

If there's a problem somewhere and it's not talked about, then nothing can be done about it. If you don't like it keep your head in the sand.

Also, this is Ben's site and if he doesn't want that type of comment then he can say so.

  • Like Ky. Preps....what a nasty web site for cowards to post!

  • I'm tending to agree. I'm locking this thread for comments at this time, but I'm sure that we can find another inflammatory quote about Greenwood that we argue about.

But I must say, 16 comments on one post, I'm very appreciative...
