  • Montgomery County beat George Rogers Clark 3-2 to win the 40th district

  • Lafayette defeated Lexington Catholic 1-0 in a tremendous game. Both pitchers and defense was outstanding. Lafayette's freshman pitcher went all 14 innings for the win.

  • Edmonson defeated Grayson 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th...awesome game!!!

  • Congrats, Edmonson County Lady Cats on your first District Tourney championship (or even win) since fastpitch began! What a game! Grayson got all the calls but were simply outplayed. NOT ONE STOLEN BASE in the last two games they have played the Lady Cats!! They can't win when their running game is taken away. Grayson County showed the worst sportsmanship I have ever seen. They sent two players that never even saw the field during the game out to collect their trophy. Be happy GC--at least you get to go to region.

  • Ballard defeated Seneca. Brill threw a 1 hitter, and Sells/Beanblossum hit triples in a 6-0 route. Ballard is on a roll, and Alan Jones has them peaking at the right time.

  • Holy Cross defeated prp 14-4!

  • Hey Anonymous from Edmondson Co.! Why is it poor sportsmanship for Grayson Co. to send two upperclassmen (the only 2 jrs.) out to pick up the 2nd place trophy? That is a stupid accusation. GC has been collecting trophys in softball for several years and they have more class than you can imagine. For you to say something like that is totally classless.

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with the only 2 juniors picking up the trophy, I just wonder who would have gone out to pick it up if GC had won the District Tournament. If I am wrong, then I apologize. I, by the way am not classless--I just called it the way I saw it.

I based the poor sportsmanship comment on the actions of the GC fans, also. The GC fans were yelling negative comments to the EC players as well as at the EC crowd. And your fans couldn't wait to get on another board and say that EC (except for the pitcher) was "average at best." It appears that GC is embarrassed to be beaten by a team that they see as "beneath" them.

I don't have anything against GC--they are a good team and VERY WELL COACHED! However, I think they should have shown more respect to EC's players and crowd.

Good luck to GC girls in the 3rd region tourney.

  • Hey Anom.,EC
I heard nothing from the GC fans like you are talking about but I did hear, (prob. you), yell out "tacky" when our upperclassmen went out to accept the trophy. You knew nothing about why those girls were there so you had no right to judge their actions. Much credit is to be given to the EC team for coming as far as they have. It only takes a few negative comments from bitter fans like you to cause friction between teams. It would be a good idea to keep your mouth shut until you have facts. I sincerly wish EC good luck at region.

  • I will post no more on this subject--I just want to say that it was not me you heard the "tacky" comment from--I did not hear that. I don't think anything negative should be said in front of the girls. FYI--I have gone to many GC games as a GC fan--so don't judge my comments as being anti-GC. I am far from it.

Look back at my posts compared to yours--who sounds bitter? There have been no negative comments about the GC team in any of these posts--only that EC deserves more respect. Also, neither I nor any other EC fan has a reason to be bitter. And I know there is no desire for friction between the teams. Just want the same respect you are given.

Now let's just agree to disagree and drop it.
